Parker Academy opened its doors for the first time in 2015 and has been providing quality child care services in the Buffalo Community ever since. We have educated, cared for, and inspired children to lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Executive Director
Jamie Lee Parker is the Founder and Executive Director of Parker Academy Child Care and Learning Center. Before becoming executive director, she was a brain-based elementary teacher at Thurgood Marshall Elementary in Chesapeake, Virginia. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in African American and African Studies from The Ohio State University, a certification in elementary education from Fayetteville State University, and a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Averett University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in multicultural education at Antioch University.
Preschool Teacher
Katie Emel works with the preschool-aged students at Parker Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Liberty University in 2019. She has been working in childcare since 2019 and has been working at Parker Academy since October 2020.
Preschool & School-Age Teacher
Jaylene Perez works with Parker Academy’s preschoolers and school aged children. She graduated from Buffalo State University in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education. She has taught art to students in grades K-12th. She is currently pursuing her second Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design.
After-School/SACC Teachers
Abigail N. Ortiz has been a teacher aide since October 2006 with the Buffalo Public School system and is currently working at Fredrick Law Olmstead (School #64). In addition to her work with BPS, she has been a proud member of the Parker Academy staff since 2017. She works with Parker Academy’s preschoolers and school-aged children.
